OFF-SEASON FLOWERING TREATMENT PROCESS ON MANGO WITH GROWTH REGULATOR OF SAIGON-P1 15WP (Jun 17, 2015)

Many growers those are specialized in planting mango  in the Mekong River  Delta provinces such as Dong Thap, Tien Giang,
Hau Giang, An Giang ... today already know how to use  regulatory chemicals of Paclobutrazol and some foliar fertilizers containing much
P and K to  treat  off-season flowering  mango , the main purpose is to sell a higher price in order to increase profits.
We hope this article  that will help farmers and mango growers  understand more about  fertilizers  and chemicals of
the  Saigon Plant Protection Joint Stock Company , simultaneously . apply  it into  off-season flowering  treatment
process on mango in   the  most effective   way .

I.                  TREATMENT WAY OF  SAIGON-P1  ON MANGO :
1. Use a wire brush or old blade  scraping  layers of  lichen, moss,
mouldy flakes  sticking around the  trunk 30cm from the ground upwards.
2. Use scoop or hoe, shovel  to  make  water holding  trench  under the ground ,
to be closed  the  foot of mango  plant
3. Dilute  product  depending on the canopy diameter 5-10 liters of water and spray it onto the trunk of about 50cm high  ,
let  product  flow down to the foof  and  remain in  the trench .
4. Depend on the variety, canopy diameter, plant age  ... to calculate the amount of treated product. Averagely ,
1-kg can of  SAIGON-P1 is  treated  15 feet  of  mango plants of which is  over 15 years old (about 65g /  foot )
or  20 feet  of  mango  plants of which   is under  15 years old  (50G / foot).

NOTE:
- After pouring  SAIGON P1, need  to water and keep moist continuously for 2-3 weeks in order to increase  product absorbing  efficiency.
- Do not  treat on stunted plants , poor growth or when their  leaves were too old.
- Do not treatover 3 years  consecutively  , need  a rest  for 1-2 years  for  caring ,  adequate  fertilizing  for plants to recover.
- 20-30 days after treating SAIGON-P1, spray Hi tech foliar fertilizer MKP (0-52-34) at concentration of 0.5-1.0% (0,5-1kg / 100 litre of  water) 2 times  ,
7-10 days apart to stimulate flower bud forming.
- Next, approximately 60-75 days after treating  SAIGON-P1, is necessary to spray MULTI-K 13-0-46 (KNO3)
2 times , 7 days apart (  the first  : concentration of 2%, the second : concentration of 1%) to break  dormancy, stimulate flowering   simultaneously.

TWO TYPES OF HI TECH FOLIAR FERTILIZERS USED FOR SPRAY AFTER  HAVING TREATED  WITH SAIGON P1 AIM AT HELPING MANGO TO FORM  FLOWER BUD  AND  SIMULTANEOUS FLOWERING
- 20-30 days:  spray foliar  fertilizer  of MKP   (0-52 - 34)
- 60-75 days: spray foliar  fertilizer  of Muti-K (13-0 -46)

I SUMMARY OF MANGO CONTROL STEPS IN  OFF-SEASON FLOWERING
1. Care and foster plant  after harvest
- Prune off branches ,form clear canopy  ,stimulate  plant  in peeping  new shoots  concentratively
-  Put down fertilizer  helping  plant in peeping  bud plumply  and  contratively aim  at  flowering and better anchoring  fruit  later  .
It can  be used NPK 15-15-15  along  with  organic fertilizer 10-15 kg / plant. Also, depending on the status of plant growth and previous  crop yield  that  we apply fertilizer accordingly.
- Water  helping  plant  in  well- absorbed fertilizer ,  and fast peeping bud .

2. The first peeping  of   tender leaves
- If bud does not  develop  well  (due to insufficient fertilizing, untimely manner) as a shortness, weakness to spray additional foliar  fertilizer to give good bud development.
- Spray  preventive pesticide  for  bud  damaging pests, especially anthracnose, leaf eating hoppers and  worms, aphids and thrips.

3.The second peeping  of   tender leaves
- After  peeping  tender leaves 15-20 days,  pouring  SAIGON-P1 (Paclobutrazol).
-  Care  plant as same as  the  first  peeping of  tender leaves

4. Paclobutrazol  treated (SAIGON P1)
- Dosage: 1-2 g  of concentration / 1-m -diameter canopy of mango .
-  Young  plant also is  treated  less than  full mature one.
-  Vigorous plant , exuberant  leaves  is treated more chemicals than  stunted one.
- Hardly flowering  variety  such as  Hoa Loc mango,  varieties  of Pal-củn-xị or ĐT15( Thai mango ) with more chemicals  to make them   in easy flowering .
- Do not treat  with  flowering  on  plant that  is  too weakened  due to too much yield in previous
year  or newly fruit giving plant for 1-2 years .
- How to treat: dilute   designed chemicals  based on mango canopy diameter with 5-10 liters of     clean water , directly pouring  into the  foot  with   availably dug  trench .
- Irrigate  water to keep  moist  for 3 weeks in order that   plant easily absorbs  product .

5. Stimulate the flower bud peeping  after  pouring  Paclobutrazol (SAIGON P1)
-      20-30 days after treating with  Paclobtrazol, spray MKP foliar fertilizer (0-52-34) at a concentration of  0.5-1.0%   (0.5-1kg / 100 litre of  water) 2 times, each time with 7 -10 days  apart to stimulate flower bud
        forming .
-      60-75 days spray MULTI-K foliar fertilizer (13-0-46) at a concentration of 2% in order to stimulate the flower bud  forming  (  it must  stop pouring  15 days  before  spraying MULTI-K)
       - 7-10 days later ,   2 nd spraying MULTI-K  at a concentration of 1%.
