Today, in order to avoid " having a bumper crop but devaluation", farmers often use Paclobutrazol to control off-season blossom of fruit trees like mango, durian, oranges, tangerines, plums, etc. In addition, Paclobutrazol is also used to control the height of treest, increases tillering and avoid falling for a number of crops such as rice, peanuts.
To help farmers understand more about Paclobutrazol and know how to use this chemicals effectively, we would like to introduce to farmers growth regulator, trade name is

III. MECHANISM OF ACTION OF PACLOBUTRAZOL:
After penetrating the trees , product inhibits the process of gibberellin biosynthesis in trees, thus it limits elongation of plant cell, helps to limit the height of trees. At the same time , product also has effect of speeding up blossom bud dividing process and stimulating off-season blossoming.
IV. USES:
- SAIGON-P1 contains 15% Paclobutrazol, substance belongs to the group of plant growth regulators, has effect of limiting leaf bud growth, accelerates the process of formation and. blossom bud dividing process
- SAIGON-P1 is very effective in treating mango and off-season blossoming, in early fruiting, reduces the phenomenon of alternate year’s fruiting or unstable fruiting
- SAIGON-P1 also work for other fruit trees such as: durian, rambutan, lychee, orange, mandarin, grapefruit, plum flower help to create off- season fruit and abundant blossom in favorable season.
- SAIGON-P1 increases the number of fruit bearing branches, limits fruit fall loss, increases the number of fruits on the tree, gives high-yield harvest.

Note:
- Rice and Peanut are evenly sprayed on leaves. Stop spraying product 10 days before harvest.
- Mango and durian should be sprayed for 01 year , stop spraying 1-2 years. Use fertilizer sufficiently
VI. TREATMENT WAY OF SAIGON-P1 ON MANGO TREE:
1. Use a wire brush or old blades to scrape layer of lichen, moss, mold flakes that stick around bark on the trunk 30cm high from the ground surface
2. Use hoes and shovels to make a trench that contains water underground 50cm apart from the tree foot
3.Depend on canopy diameter of tree , dilute product into 10 - 20 liters of water, water on the tree trunk about 50cm high , let product flow down to the tree foot and stagnate into the trench.
4. Depend on variety, canopy diameter of tree , tree age in order to calculate amount of spray product . Averagely, 1-kg can of SAIGON-P1 mango can use 15 mango trees over 15 years (about 65g/foot ) or 20 mango trees less than 15 years (50g/ foot ).
NOTE:
- After treatment SAIGON-P1 about 75 - 90 days, it should conduct spraying MULTI-K 13-0-46 (KNO
3) 2 times at 7 days interval (the first time 2% strength; the second time : 1% strength to break dormancy , stimulate blossoming simultaneously.
- Need watering to keep humid in 2 weeks to increase the efficiency of product absorption.
- Do not spray on the stunted trees that have poor growth or too old leaves .
- Do not spray more than 3 consecutive years, it need relaxing for caring 1- 2 years, sufficiently fertilizing for plant recovery.
VII. PROCESS CONTROL MANGO FOR OFF- SEASON BLOSSOMING :
1. Caring, fostering trees in post-harvest phase
- Pruning branches, creating clear canopy , stimulating tree giving many new shoots intensively .
- Fertilizing: help trees to give plump buds intensively , and it aims blossoming and bearing fruit better later ,can use NPK 15-15-15 along with organic fertilizer 10-15kg/tree. Depending on the state of tree growth and productivity of previous crop so that we will use an amount of fertilizer properly
- Watering helps trees absorb fertilizer well , shows budding speedily
2. The first showing of young leaves
- If young buds do not develop well ( due to insufficient fertilizer, and application is untimely ) as shortness, weakness need to conduct additional foliar fertilizer for well-grown buds.
- Spray pesticides to control and prevent pests that cause harm young buds , especially anthracnose, leaf feeding hoppers, aphids and thrips.
3. The second showing of young leaves
- After showing young leaves 15 - 20 days, watering
SAIGON-P1 15 %percent (Paclobutrazol).
- Care tree as same as the first young leaves
4. Paclobutrazol treatment
- Dose: 1-2g of pure strength per 1-m- diameter canopy of mango.
- Young trees are used less than mature .tress
- Vigorously developed trees with good green leaves , chemicals is used more than barren trees
- New varieties are hard to blossom such as Hoa Loc Pal-cùn xị , DT 15 Thai mango) , it must be used amount of chemicals more than easily blossoming varieties.
- Do not treat blossoming for too weakened trees that give high productivity in previous year or new trees give 1-2 years.
- How to treat: mixing chemicals with 10-20 liters of clean water, watering directly to the root of the trees with available trench .
- Damp watering the trees for 3 weeks so that trees can absorb product easily
- Then spraying MKP (0-52-34) with strength of 0.5-1.0% (0.5-1kg / 100 litres of water) 2 times at an interval of 7-10 days.
5. Stimulate blossoming buds after watering Paclobutrazol 75 - 90 days.
- Stop watering 15 days before stimulating blossoming by foliar fertilizer MULTI-K.
- When the leaves of top shoots having two wavy edges, spreading no longer furls as young bud.
- Spraying
MULTI-K(KNO3) at a strength of 2-2.5%
- 7-10 days after spraying
MULTI-Kfor the second time with a 50% reduced strength.
